For specifications and weights see the aircraft menu. Use the Fuel and
Payloads options to set up weight and fuel loading.
- Stall speed, clean: 117 KIAS at normal weight.
- Stall speed, landing: 104 KIAS at normal weight.
- Max flap extension: 250 KIAS
- Max gear extension: 230 KIAS
Cockpit Orientation
Various switches and controls are available in the virtual
cockpit. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the location of these
controls.
Right Console

Left Console

Engine Start
Use Ctrl-E (autostart) to start the aircraft, or:
- Set parking brake.
- Set throttle to IDLE.
- Pull up "Switches" panel (Shift-6 or use
switches on right console in VC).
- Turn OFF all electrical equipment.
- Turn ON master battery switch.
- Check fuel supply.
- Ensure fuel cock is on (at rear of left console).
- Turn ON fuel pump switch.
- Start Engine using the engine start switch.
- Monitor oil pressure and temperature.
- Turn ON generator.
- Turn ON avionics.
Takeoff (maximum fuel)
- Make sure fuel is adequate and fuel selector is set.
- Set flaps control to first position.
- Set elevator trim neutral.
- Apply full power with afterburner smoothly.
- Pull back on the stick slightly to lighten the nose at about
100
KIAS.
- Rotate smoothly at about 120 KIAS to 10 degrees pitch
up.
After Takeoff
- Retract landing gear once a positive rate of climb is established.
- Make your initial climb at a very shallow angle until
180 KIAS is reached.
- Reduce throttle to 100 percent RPM.
- Allow the aircraft to accelerate to 350 KIAS.
- Climb at about 350 KIAS for best rate of climb.
- After reaching 0.7 Mach maintain for remainder of
climb.

Normal Descent
- Retard throttles to idle.
- Lower landing gear observing speed restrictions.
Landing (19,000 lbs.)
- Approach the field at about 240 KIAS with plenty of room to slow
down.
- Lower gear below 230 KIAS.
- Slow to approach speed of 170 KIAS extend the first
stage of flaps.
- Speed on base leg should be 150 KIAS; lower second
stage of flaps.
- Turn to final and lower the third stage of flaps, maintaining 130
KIAS.
- The fourth stage of flaps acts as an airbrake and may
be used if needed.
- Flare speed should be 120 KIAS.
- Touch down in a slightly nose-up attitude at about 105
KIAS.
- Brake as necessary after front main gear touches down.
