AlphaSim Draken Procedures

For performance and aircraft specifications see the aircraft menu.

This aircraft has been set up with load stations at each hardpoint, so you can add the weight of various armament payloads if desired.

To add the external fuel tanks, just remove the "//" characters before the external tank lines in the fuel tank section of the aircraft.cfg file.

After Takeoff

  1. Retract landing gear once a positive rate of climb is established.
  2. Reduce throttle to 97% N2.
  3. Allow the aircraft to accelerate to 250 KIAS.

Cruising

Use autopilot/autothrottle to set cruise parameters.
Altitude Airspeed Fuel Consumption Naut. miles/1000 lbs

  3. Lower landing gear observing speed restrictions.
  4. Set descent rate and speed as desired using the autopilot.

Landing (22,000 lbs.)

  1. Approach the field at about 240 KIAS with plenty of room to slow down.
  2. Check landing gear is down and locked on downwind leg.
  3. Slow to approach speed of 150 KIAS on final.
