AlphaSim YF-107A Procedures

For specifications and weights see the aircraft menu.  Use the Fuel and Payloads options to set up weight and fuel loading.

Engine Start

Use Ctrl-E (autostart) to start the aircraft.

Takeoff

  1. Make sure fuel supply is adequate and fuel selector is set to fullest tank or "ALL".
  2. Set flaps to the up position.
  3. Set all trim controls neutral.
  4. Apply full power smoothly - afterburners as desired.
  5. Rotate at 140 KIAS, liftoff at 160 KIAS.

Climb

  1. Climb at 250-400 KIAS (250 KIAS below 10,000 feet).
  2. Set climb power to 90-95% N1.
  3. Autothrottle is recommended.

Cruising

  1. Set cruise power as desired from 70-85% N1.
  2. A normal cruise is around 550 KTAS at 30,000 feet MSL.
  3. Autothrottle (Mach hold) is recommended.
  4. Set Mach hold to Mach 0.9 for economical fuel consumption at 30,000 feet.

Landing

  1. Approach the field at about 250 KIAS with plenty of room to slow down.
  2. Extend landing gear on downwind at about 225 KIAS.
  3. Deploy flaps in stages, up to 1/4 on downwind, 1/2 on base.
  4. Autothrottle is recommended on final.  Set to 140 knots.
  5. Deploy airbrakes as needed.
  6. Don't deploy full flaps until the runway is made.
  7. Normal landing speed is 140 KIAS over the fence, touchdown at about 130 KIAS.
  8. Disable autothrottle just before touchdown.
